Reliability

Measurement reliability is the degree to which a measure is consistent. It is an important concept in the social sciences because it allows researchers to determine the extent to which the results of their study are repeatable. If a measure is not reliable, then the results of a study may not be valid. In other words, if a measure is not reliable, then it is not measuring what it is supposed to be measuring.
